Just got the bike put back together last night when I noticed my side stand was not staying down and also did not stay all the way up. ( I know the Rogues are snickering right now...) Anyway I thought the spring may need changing... I went to check the tension on the spring and the bolt holding the spring fell out.
Did a quick search on the National boards and found this thing has failed often so I just wanted to give a heads up and have people check this periodically. I am just glad I discovered it in the garage rather than on the road.
Luckily I had a spare and replaced it. I had to remove the side stand completely to get the new bolt in there. I have ordered a couple more of these to have on hand...
